Gloucestershire County Council is using web hosted street lighting management software from Yotta to provide a better value for money service. Using Mayrise Street Lighting as a principal management system as well as in the field on mobile devices the Council is already realising operational efficiency gains following implementation earlier this year. The integrated management solution is also being used to manage the Council’s street lighting asset, with condition reports and forward maintenance planning, as well as providing financial control and reporting.
Gloucestershire County Council selected Yotta’s Mayrise Street Lighting solution following a review of its existing system and working practices. The previous street lighting software had been in place for a number of years and the Council had undertaken significant development in order to get the required functionality. Ken Pitt, Street Lighting Manager at Gloucestershire County Council commented, “We looked at a number of generic asset management systems before making our selection. Being specifically designed for street lighting Mayrise did what we needed it to do from day one. The support we received both during implementation, including the migration of 265,000 records from our incumbent system, and as we rolled out across the operation, has also been first class with excellent response times to all requests.”
Using the Mayrise management software, with live linked mobile devices running Mayrise Mobile software, Gloucestershire Council is already realising improved productivity. Faults reported to the Council via their website, remote monitoring software and by the public are automatically communicated to the Council’s contractors SSE Enterprise. Armed with the mobile devices, complete with integrated mapping, SSE engineers can easily locate and identify individual lights, signs and bollards, and effectively plan and schedule their workload. They can also access detailed condition and maintenance reports relating to the asset.
“The Mayrise Mobile solution is really easy to use with far fewer and more intuitive steps that our previous solution,” continued Ken Pitt, “this makes it really easy for engineers to schedule their workload more efficiently making each staff member more productive. Therefore through the use of Mayrise Street Lighting we are able to provide a better value for money service.”
“However Mayrise is more than just an operational tool for the day to day running of the street lighting service. Using Mayrise we can manage our street lighting assets with condition monitoring and forward maintenance planning. We also have full visibility of the budget with integrated invoicing and financial reporting, and are hoping to integrate with our street works software for noticing of internal works” concluded Ken Pitt.
