Two of the leading names in asset management and infrastructure services have come together to launch a new approach to asset management. Based on the highly successful Horizons highway asset management platform, Amey Asset Manager combines best of breed technology with internationally recognised asset management excellence. Already supporting a number of projects including Local Authority Highway and Highways England ASC contracts Amey Asset Manager improves access to essential data. This allows users at the frontline of highways maintenance to look at the whole life cycle of an asset; predicting performance and possible failures, informing long term strategies and supporting decision making.
“We already had an award winning pedigree from our work in highways PFI projects,” commented Dave Spencer, Managing Director of Amey’s engineering consultancy business. “However what we needed was to be able to apply this experience across a range of scenarios giving our customers a robust, easy to use yet a technologically advanced solution. Yotta’s Horizons platform is a proven and well supported solution; giving real-time access to essential asset data to support and improve decision making and was an ideal match for our requirements. The development of Amey Asset Manager was a logical step in Amey’s journey to continuously improve how we use our practical knowledge to make better informed complex asset decisions.”
“Amey has a well-deserved reputation for asset management across a range of industries,” added Nick Smee, CEO of Yotta. “We were therefore delighted they chose to base Amey Asset Manager on our Horizons platform and our experienced consultants have worked closely with Amey to ensure Horizons can be deployed across different scenarios.”
Amey Asset Manager is already supporting a number of contracts including a Managing Agent Contractor account with Central Bedfordshire, a £2.7 billion PFI project for Birmingham City Council as well as a number of Highways Agency Asset Support Contracts (ASC). Other client sites where Amey Asset Manager has been deployed include Liverpool City Council and Staffordshire County Council.
Horizons, on which Amey Asset Manager is based, is a highway Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”) asset management platform designed to make it easier for asset managers to visualise, manage and optimise all their asset management strategies and records in a unique and effective way using a single cloud-based solution. Since launching to market in 2012 Horizons has revolutionised asset management across a range of applications and is now used by around 50 local authorities in addition to service partners and maintenance contractors.
Amey Asset Manager is built on Yotta’s innovative approach and Amey’s extensive practical knowledge of infrastructure asset management. It encourages the sharing of best practice and has already demonstrated that it is providing significant efficiency savings for customers. Amey Asset Manager provides a robust asset management approach which is ideally suited to future demands such as incentivised funding.
