In upgrading to the latest generation of Causeway Estimating, civil engineers Dyer & Butler have created a single estimating system with multi-user facilities that enables work to be shared by people on different sites. All of the company’s estimators are also now able to access a central library to ensure consistency.

Dyer & Butler is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering consultancy that maintains and renews infrastructure within both the public and private sectors. The company had been using an older version of Estimating for some years and decided that an upgrade was required. Having evaluated a number of systems they identified the latest version of Causeway Estimating as being the most powerful in terms of its functionality and features – and the benefits that these would deliver.

A particular requirement was to make optimum use of available estimating resources, which were located on a number of different sites. The multi-user functionality of Estimating enables several estimators to work on the same estimate simultaneously, irrespective of their location.

Key benefits

  • Multiple users are able to work on the same estimate simultaneously.
  • Use of available resources is optimised.
  • Consistent data is used for all estimates through central library.
  • Estimating workflows are streamlined.
