SkillGuard for Utilities is a workforce and supply chain management system designed for utilities and contractors working in the utilities sector. It manages trusted workforce data to reduce duplication, increase efficiency, and ensure workforce safety.

- Purpose of Processing: To enable you to manage data within SkillGuard for Utilities on behalf of your employer.

- Nature of Processing: Data is stored and processed to ensure controls restrict access to authorized individuals and maintain an audit history of changes you make. We also store contact details if you communicate with us for support.
- Storage Location: Your data is stored in the UK. Transfers outside the UK/EEA will only occur with appropriate safeguards, adequacy decisions, or compliance with data protection laws.
- Types of Personal Data: Name, email address, optionally phone number and date of birth, for correspondence, user maintenance, and audit purposes.
- Duration of Processing: Audit trail data is retained for the life of the SkillGuard for Utilities system. Other data is retained for the system's lifetime or until otherwise notified.

- Nature of Processing: Workforce data, job roles, hours worked, and safety-critical health data stored for real-time "authority to work." Historic data enables seamless employment transitions and supports investigations.
Types of Personal Data
- Standard Data: Name, contact details, employment status, qualifications, training records, site briefings, inductions, and swipe activity for fatigue and site analysis.
- Special Category Data: Safety-critical occupational health data, medical results, drug and alcohol test outcomes, and work restrictions.
How Data Is Collected
- Personal Information: Recorded by your initial and current employer.
- Qualifications: Added by employers, training providers, or integrated systems like CourseSight.
- Medical Results: Recorded by approved medical providers.
Data Storage and Retention
- Location: Data is stored within the UK. Transfers outside the UK/EEA are subject to safeguards.
- Duration:
- Audit trail data is retained for the life of the SkillGuard for Utilities system.
- Other data is retained for seven years after the last employer subscription payment, plus six months for encrypted backups.
Data Sharing
- Shared With: Authorized employers, principal contractors, utilities, training providers, and medical providers. Helpdesk and system admin users may access records for support purposes.
